“It’s like a wellness area here”, one client is quoted as saying after the opening of health insurance company AOK's office in Stuttgart's Vaihingen district. Karlsruhe-based architects metzger renner-motz have created optimal consulting rooms with curved feco glass walls which, thanks to excellent sound insulation and acoustics, enable confidential discussions with customers despite their transparency. Curtains also offer visual discretion if required. The furniture has been specially developed for the consulting situation. The doors with glass skylights are fecotür Holz H60 wooden doors flush with the frame on both sides with technical panels integrated into the frame. The white powder-coated frames and fecoplan profies appear friendly, while the fabric-covered absorbers create a homely atmosphere and, unlike perforated surfaces, do not create a moiré effect.

Office work and telephone calls are carried out by the employees in a separate office area that is a communicative team area. Glass fecoplan sound screens and fabric covered fecophon acoustic absorbers together with microperforated cabinet fronts and rear walls ensure good room acoustics. Concentrated work and telephone calls are just as possible here as the rapid exchange of information with colleagues. High confidentiality requirements when it comes to customer data mean that a clean desk policy is enforced. In principle, anyone can sit anywhere. In this way, teamwork or learning phases can be implemented quickly and easily. Employees keep personal items in lockers, and can relax and recover in a separate and attractive break room.

Mobile end devices create the necessary freedom of movement when alternating between screen work and customer service. AOK’s proximity to clients and openness to discussion is reflected in its slogan: “healthy and close”.
