inovex’s approximately 500 IT experts are specialists in the “digitalisation and agilisation of business processes“. At seven locations and in changing task forces, they develop customer- and solution-oriented innovative answers relating to the topic of “digital transformation“. Agile methods and a strong, cross-departmental team spirit determine the daily work routine. This is also reflected in the redesign of the Cologne site by feco’s interior design experts: Flexible settings are ideal for both co-working and communication, while comfortable upholstered furniture, wooden elements and biophilic accents break up the rugged industrial charm of the “Kupferhütte“ historic brick building and enhance the feel-good factor.
The focus was on community; after all, anyone who participates in constantly changing, customised teams must know all the members. A spacious break area with a large-sized kitchen and pedestals, seating cubes and other sitting or standing options is designed to encourage people to linger and talk. Table soccer, street art and a lounge corner round off the cosy setup. In this relaxed atmosphere, conversations get underway, contacts develop and deepen, and bonds grow – target reached!
A modern, open work landscape in the attic floor above is used for daily business. Zones with height-adjustable, ergonomic workstations, comfortable brainstorming niches and flexible laptop workstations are visually separated in the upper area by slatted constructions made of wood in container format. This divides the space and creates semi-transparent meeting and retreat areas.
For concentrated individual work in the middle of the open space, telephone booths and upholstered work cubicles complete the office inventory. Workshops, client and employee meetings take place in meeting rooms for up to 15 people – sometimes in full view behind the glass wall, and sometimes screened, as befits a flexible, digital environment. inovex’s location in Cologne has thus become as agile, cooperative, communicative and diverse as the working culture in the IT project house itself.
