The German Brand Award is the award for successful brand management in Germany. The winners have now been chosen in Berlin. We are very happy about two awards in the category Excellent Brands: “Product Brand of the Year” & “Building & Elements”. Connecting and inspiring people with appreciative working environments – that’s what drives us – and the jury’s vote motivates us! As a leading manufacturer of space-creating system walls and a notable setter of office spaces, the feco team wants to continue developing human centered workspaces.
The awards for successful brand management
Initiated by Germany’s design and brand authority, judged by a top-class panel of experts from brand management and brand science: the German Brand Awards are the award for successful brand management in Germany. The awards discover, present and award unique brands and brand builders – and not only advances the winners, but also their respective industries.
There are two ways to nominate: Companies that have attracted the attention of the expert committees of the German Design Council for their innovative achievements receive a nomination. In addition, interested parties can actively submit projects for participation. They go through the same review process. In both cases, a nomination acknowledges the level of innovation of the project. The German Brand Awards contest procedure ensures the independence and excellence of the awards.
The German Brand Awards
The German Brand Awards 2022 are divided into two disciplines: »Excellent Brands« rewards the best product and corporate brands in an industry. »Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation« honours the strongest campaigns, concepts and strategies of individual disciplines. In addition, honorary prizes for outstanding brand work are awarded.
In 2022, the German Brand Awards were able to achieve a great international response with about 1.200 submissions from 19 countries. A total of 65 projects and brands were awarded »Gold«: 27 in »Excellent Brands«, 38 in »Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation«.
The jury is made up of independent, interdisciplinary experts from companies, science, consulting, services and agencies. The submissions are evaluated according to the criteria of independence and brand typology, brand distinctiveness, differentiation from the competition and target group relevance. Brand management should take into account aspects such as sustainability, degree of innovation, continuity and future viability. Factors such as the design quality of the brand presence, the homogeneity of the brand experience and the economic success also play a decisive role in the adjudication process.
German Design Council – the organiser
The German Design Council is an independent and internationally active institution that supports companies in efficiently communicating design and brand competence and at the same time aims to strengthen the general public’s understanding of design. Founded as a foundation in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag by the Federation of German Industries and several leading companies, the German Design Council promotes design, brand and innovation through its awards, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and publications. The membership of the German Design Council currently includes over 350 domestic and foreign companies.
German Brand Institute – The Organiser
The German Brand Institute Foundation was established jointly by the German Design Council and GMK Markenberatung. Its aim is to strengthen the importance of brand management as a decisive factor in the success that companies have in the national and international competitive environment and to communicate the brand to the public as an expression of a successful corporate culture. The German Brand Awards let the foundation present a unique award for outstanding brand management.
