From archive to lounge: A new marketplace for exchange and relaxation With the farewell to its paper archive, a new spatial concept opened up for the patent law firm. The former archive and multifunctional area was not only to be redesigned but given a new function: a central marketplace within the firm – a space for encounter and regeneration, designed to encourage communication and invite people to linger.

feco has accompanied the firm’s spatial development for many years. A defining design feature from the 2017 concept – the striking blue technology island – was intentionally retained and reinterpreted. It now forms the centerpiece of an open lounge zone, held together by a harmonious color palette of blue, lilac, and rosé tones. The high-quality furnishings – including the Brunner Banc meeting alcove, a comfortable sofa, lounge chairs, and a standing table – were newly arranged as part of the concept. Supplemented by new pieces from the Aleta collection by Viccarbe and thoughtful accessories, the result is an atmosphere reminiscent of an elegant private club. Color-coordinated rugs subtly zone the space, offering orientation and visual calm.

What once served purely as an archive is now a place of interaction, encouraging informal communication among employees. This transformation not only reflects the firm’s digital evolution, but also its aspiration to create more human, vibrant, and inspiring work environments.
